Long-distance move from Montreal, QC to Edmonton, AB

Dr. Haynes

Please do not use these movers. They may appear to be giving you the best deal but it is a scam to get you to sign. They agreed to move my items from Montreal to Edmonton for a price, then once they got my shipment in their possession they increased the price on me. When I refused to pay, they held my items for a year at ransom. Then they turned my shipment over to another partner who threatened to sell my stuff if I did not pay. It was a total shake down. Had to take them to court to get my shipment back and lost much of my items due to bad storage conditions which includes broke crates and extensive damage caused by rats. Remember, you get what you pay for - I learned the hard way!

Do Not Use.

This company is a scam. They hold your things hostage and demand upfront payment. They quoted me $1600.00 for my move and once my belongings had left and we’re at their warehouse, they sent me an invoice for $5000 demanding immediate payment and backdating their invoice to before they picked up my belongings. I have contacted the police and they are investigating.

Relocation.

I moved from Alberta to Ontario at the beginning of the year and had called a couple van lines to get quotes, but right from the beginning Access Canada movers stood out - the woman that I talked to in the office were very friendly and immediately put all my fears about the moving process to rest. The people who came to load my items were quick and professional and the two young men who unloaded for me in Ontario were friendly and helpful - they stayed late to make sure all of my furniture was reassembled. Not a single item was lost or broken along the way!

Long-distance move from Toronto, ON to Montreal, QC

Terrible administration.

Access Canada Movers responded to an enquiry I sent to a general website which provides quotes for movers. The phone response from Access Canada Movers was almost instantaneous. They quoted a low price and arranged a collection date on the spot. This seemed too easy – and it was.

When the invoice was emailed to me, it was for an amount higher than what I was quoted. I had to call and ask for this invoice to be revised to what I had been quoted when I booked.

The collection team arrived exactly on time and were efficient at packing. I give full credit to this team. My goods went into storage.

Within a few weeks I received an invoice for the full amount of the moving costs when my goods had not even been delivered. I responded to this email to query whether it should be paid once my goods were actually delivered but received no response to this email.

I contacted Access Canada Movers a few weeks later to ask when my goods had to be delivered and could they provide the weigh receipt for the volume of goods I was charged to store. Again, no response to this email.

I followed up again a week later and left a phone message. No response.

I then got another email from Access Canada Movers saying I now owed $100 more because my goods had been stored for longer than their initial storage period. I contacted them to try to arrange the delivery date and again, no response.

When I eventually got in contact with Access Canada Movers to have my goods delivered, they said they would revise my emails about the surcharge and booked a date for delivery of the goods. On the afternoon before my goods were delivered, while I was home sick and about to fly internationally for a medical appointment where I would be away for two weeks (and therefore needed the goods delivered before I left), I received a call from Access Canada Movers to say that notwithstanding the emails, they would not deliver any of my goods until I paid the extra amount. Pretty awful treatment really. The full amount was paid at that time by credit card.

At 6am the next morning, in the snow and rain, I stood for 30 mins while the delivery person sat in the cab of his truck verifying my payment. He was not able to verify the payment so took the ENTIRE payment again.

The delivery team moved all goods well and there was no damage to the property whatsoever.

My experience with the Access Canada Movers administration was so bad that the entire experience was awful and I paid almost double what was quoted to me. I would not recommend this provider. I have only positive feedback about the movers themselves.

Long-distance move from Vancouver, BC to Toronto, ON

My Move.

My friends had moved with Access Canada Movers and had no issue, When I was planning to move they gave me a number to get in touch with Marc who was their sales agent. I gave him a call to see what the price would be to move from Vancouver to Toronto. After discussing what I was moving, he gave me a great price. When the movers showed up they were very polite and respectful towards me. Even their customer service reps were great, any question I had they were giving me answers. When they got to my home in Toronto their local drivers were Wonderful. I had no issue with my move, If in the near future I decide to move again I will be contacting Marc again.

Stress free.

I strongly recommend.I was amazed at how efficient, quick and careful my movers were. Both the gentlemen were friendly and truly cared to look at how I had labeled the boxes and even packed my locker neatly for me to utilize the most space.
I will definitely use Access Canada Movers for my moving needs if I move in the future.

I extend my thanks to my movers and Marc at the office for her assistance as they made my move stress.

Horrible Company.

Do not waste your time with this company what so ever.. The only thing they are good at is giving you a quote.
The guys who showed up to pickup my stuff were not in any type of uniform dirty clothing and a rental truck. Company waited until I called to ask where my stuff was as it was already 4 weeks late to then start shipping it.. 7 weeks later stuff has now been confirmed to being delivered soon but how truthful that is I have no idea.

The phone calls I have had with this company went from Stuff in Transit, Stuff stuck in a train delay, Not even in transit not sure where your stuff is, Oh we have not even started to ship your items yet.

You get nothing but a complete run around, The Shipping manager acts as if she owns the company but after looking at BBB website clearly she just lies to avoid getting into more trouble.

Horrendous Movers, Stay Away!! my Star Rating is a Zero!

Each and every box is water damaged. Either their storage facilities or their owner operator trailers leak, but every stitch of furniture is either water damaged or chipped and every box is water damaged. Just unpacked a box of signed Harry Potter novels and by sheer luck they are undamaged but the reading copies are so wet the pages are falling out. They snapped a solid metal lamp base that is for my tiffany lamp, a base that weighs 25 pounds. They tuck taped the box back together but the snapped piece is missing. Looks like they backed over it with a fork lift. My dry goods for the kitchen are all wet and moldy, I have to toss all the food I packed up from my kitchen. Every box is filthy and all my clothing arrived completely soaked and soiled. I have to wash and dry clean everything, even though it was boxed and clearly labeled. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE TOTAL SCAM ARTISTS. They held me for ransom, insisting that they would not deliver my goods unless I paid in advance. Now I know why. They knew they had destroyed the shipment of goods. They could not prove the weight of the truck with my goods on it, sending me an invoice from the wrong weigh scale as 'proof" and the weight was way off of what a 24 ft straight truck loaded should weigh. They lie through their teeth and as other reviews have said, their customer service is a joke.
